Coorg or Kodagu, A very know place for its hospitality and beautiful scenery. This is one of the best destinations for nature lovers. A traveler gets fascinated by greenery and picturesque landscapes, wooded slopes, old-fashioned villages of Coorg. There are innumerable hills ranges which tempt millions of travelers every year.

How to reach?

  1. Bus Service/Taxi: The closest Indian railway station is Mysore, near 100kms from Coorg. Buses from main Bus Stand are frequent and connect Coorg. From Mysore to Coorg the bus journey is about 2-3 hrs. But it is advisable to get the bus from Bangalore (In case you are coming via Bangalore), the bus journey is around 6 hrs. It is better if you hire a cab from either city, as the public transport other than Volvo (few Buses) is not very effective for the Coorg District.
  2. By Air: The nearest airport is in Mangalore. From airport you can take a cab, which is always a better option.

Get around and See:

Once you are in Coorg, you have option to hire auto rickshaws or a cab for short journeys.

Abbey Falls: A tourist attraction is 8 kms from Kadikeri. All year around there is plenty of water. The thundering sound, I can hear from the main road and the road goes through coffee and cardamom plantations.

Nagarahole Wild life Sanctuary: It means a “Snake River”which flows through the national park; this is country’s first “Bio-Sphere Reserve”. You can have safari in the early morning and evening. You can surely see the Elephant, Spotted Dear, Sambhar, Barking Deer, Wild Boar, Bison, etc. and many birds. If you luck is on your side, you might get a chance to see a Panther or Tiger.

Medikeri: The Capital of Kodagu, also known as Coorg, it is also known as the “Scotland of India”. Thousands of visitors come here to visit famous Coorg coffee plantations, lush green jungles, cloudy hills and some spectacular views of other areas. It has amazing climate, also has a world record in cardamom crop production.
